Janet Weimar

Executive Director, Prospect Development

Janet is an experienced and dynamic prospect development professional with more than 25 years in the field. In her current role as a senior member of the Data Analytics team at The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA), she manages the prospect development team, assists fundraisers in pinpointing and engaging their most promising prospects, and provides prospect management and research expertise for greater business intelligence across the organization. Active in the field, Janet has served in numerous volunteer roles over the years, including recently serving for 3 years as a member of Apra's New Researcher's Symposium. She also chaired Apra’s 25th Annual International Conference in Minneapolis, MN in 2012. Janet co-presented a session on fundraiser metrics with her data science colleague at Apra PD in Phoenix in 2019 and is thrilled to be revisiting this topic for this session on Metrics 2.0 for Plug Into Metrics. 

Kent Clark

Vice President for Main Campus Development

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement

Kent Clark is the Vice President for Main Campus Development at the University of Iowa Center for Advancement. He leads major, principal, and transformational giving programs for academic colleges, intercollegiate athletics, and university-wide initiatives. In addition, he oversees the UICA’s Data Analytics division, which encompasses data science, prospect development, and business intelligence. With over 30 years of nonprofit management experience, 20 of that in higher education, Kent has a passion for helping donors make an impact, and fundraising teams achieve more. Recently he has focused on ways to integrate the art and science of fundraising—using data-informed decision-making to optimize development effectiveness. Kent holds degrees from Michigan State University and Cincinnati Christian University and previously served in advancement leadership roles at Utah State University, California State University Fresno, and Minnesota State University in Mankato.
