To Migrate or Not to Migrate: That is the CRM Question

Maz King is a dedicated problem-solver with nine years of nonprofit data experience and passion for systems integration. They look under the hood of organizations to identify issues, streamline processes, and ultimately optimize systems to better support fundraising. They have managed projects at all levels of an organization, from completing national surveys with CEOs and developing campaigns with boards to improving the day-to-day operations of frontline staff by streamlining processes.

Maz’s expertise lies in discovering the root causes of inefficient systems and creating roadmaps for solutions. They have a love for data integrity, automating processes to increase productivity, and bringing data storytelling to life with visualizations. Their favorite challenge is finding the quickest, easiest way to pass information between databases that don’t speak to one another. Their notable accomplishments include completing a database migration, designing revenue reports and dashboards, and implementing a portfolio management system. Although Maz is a big picture thinker, to this day they are proudest of the little changes that made the largest impact, such as coding a script that eliminated the need for manual data entry, or training a staff member to use a database feature that transformed an arduous, hours-long process into one that took minutes.

Prior to joining CCS, Maz worked at After School Matters, a Chicago nonprofit focused on providing quality after school programs, where they were a database administrator, and United Way of Metro Chicago, where they focused on data analysis and systems integration.

Maz has a BA from Knox College and a certificate in Data Science from Northwestern University. They are Blackbaud Professional Certified in Raiser’s Edge.
