Getting Started with R for Data Science: A Non-Expert's Guide

Making the leap from spreadsheets to specialized data science programs can be challenging: Writing code, unfamiliar software, and how to even share your work. In this session I'll share my experience making that leap as a graduate student in data science, the benefits of learning a program like R, and some demonstration of what it can do. Attendees will learn basic terminology, where to find free open-source software, and how to get started on some simple projects. I'll include recommendations for training and support, as well as how to get AI to write your code.
