Apra is excited to bring you Apra Fundamentals: Prospect Research! Join us for online networking opportunities and learning exercises combined with additional learning in the weeks leading up to the event. You will not only have access to the online community of attendees and faculty experts, but also the opportunity to attend a virtual program taking place March 27, 29 and 31.
 
The program focuses on the four key areas of prospect development: Campaigns, Prospect Research, Prospect Management, and Data Science. It also explores fundraising terms and technologies as well as techniques and resources for finding and analyzing biographical, background, and financial information; introduces participants to corporate and foundation research, and delves into how available data can be used to formulate gift capacities and inform fundraising operations. In addition, the program covers guiding concepts related to prospect research, such as navigating ethical considerations in conducting research, best practices for managing and reporting prospect data, and creating quality research products.

Beth Trammell Inman

Senior Director, Prospect and Donor Research

Shriners Children’s

Beth Inman is the Senior Director, Prospect and Donor Research at Shriners Children’s. Prior to joining Shriners, Beth was in similar roles at The George Washington University, Colby College, JDRF, and the University of South Carolina. Before her development career, Beth was the associate curator of American and decorative art at the Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, SC. She is currently on the faculty of Apra Fundamentals and, for Apra International, she has served on the Ethics & Compliance committee and chaired the Awards committee. Additionally, Beth is a board member of NEDRA and is the former president of Apra Carolinas. She was the recipient of the 2017 Apra Carolinas Distinguished Service Award and the 2019 Apra International Distinguished Service Award.

Beth is a native of Charlotte, NC and holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a master’s degree in art history from the University of South Carolina. She is passionate about literacy, the arts, and women’s rights causes and is mom to a daughter who attends Auburn University. 

Jodi Kohrs

Director of Prospect Management and Research

Minnesota State University

Jodi Kohrs is the Director of Prospect Management and Research for Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has been in this role for over 20 years. She is responsible for all prospect identification, research efforts, and portfolio management for the fundraising team.  Additionally, she has served as faculty at University Wisconsin, Superior for a fundamentals prospect research course.  Jodi has served in a number of volunteer rolls with Apra International and Apra-MN including serving as a member of the curriculum committee for Apra International Prospect Development Conference in 2011 and 2020 and as President of Apra-MN.

Jodi has a bachelor’s degree in Business and master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State Mankato.  She is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for Loyola Catholic School in Mankato and enjoys volunteering at other non-profits. 

Jennifer Moody

Associate Vice President, Research

Gobel

Jennifer Moody joined Gobel after a career with Henry Ford Health System as the Manager of Research and Prospect Management. While in this role, she developed and implemented a prospect management program that streamlined major gift officer portfolios and increased fundraising efficiency. Before that, she served as Research and Donor Stewardship Coordinator for The Henry Ford, an arts and culture organization, where she contributed to the launch of a $150 million comprehensive campaign. Jennifer is also active with the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (Apra), as the Finance Lead for Apra’s Michigan chapter and as a faculty member for Apra Fundamentals – Prospect Research, and having previously served on the Ethics & Compliance Committee. She is cowriting a chapter focused on pipeline management for the Researchers in Fundraising Best Practice Guide and Handbook for Prospect Research. Jennifer is certified in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge Fundamentals and received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. She resides in Wyandotte, Mich.
