The EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was approved by the EU Parliament in April 2016 but went into full effect on May 25, 2018. The GDPR, along with various PII/data sharing controversies, including Cambridge Analytica, further ignited the need for greater data privacy and protection. At the time of writing this description, there are 10 states in the US with data privacy legislation under consideration or expected to go into force within the coming year. How does this impact our organization’s fundraising efforts? How can we best comply with regulations with global impact as well as that of our own country? Our own state? Join this session to hear from prospect development professionals based in the UK, Canada, and the US, and learn how they and their own organizations approach issues of data privacy, data protection, and compliance.
